Deathwatch and Tau. Not always the best of “friends”
Angelica summing up what having responsibilities really means.
The last time I researched this (I used to have a P-38 web site, which I would like to resurrect) there were fewer then 10 flyable P-38s. Since that point, I know of a crash in England, and one crash in the U.S. that were complete destruction and fatalities. White Lightnin’ had a crash landing and to my knowledge is still being restored under a different scheme.
Seeing a photo with three air worthy P-38s is something to behold. So graceful, yet powerful. This is my favorite WW2 airplane, and the view of these three beauties sends chills down my spine. They are simple machines, true, but from a symbolic point of view, words cannot describe how meaningful they truly are.
